I have to be honest I’m not a huge fan of ballads, really of any genre. However I gotta say that Arika Kane’s voice is heaven sent. I am enjoying her soft lyrics because she has such a strength to her voice that it has to be heard to be believed. She has an amazing range and is able to hold her notes firmly even at the top of her vocals. The music is a pretty standard R&B ballad tempo, so prepare to sway. The composition was really well done and I appreciate how her voice rides ever so slightly above the music.
This is not the song I had wanted to review but there are only samples of her songs online. Even on her website so in order to do an honest review I had to go find this one on youtube. I like this song ok, but I would really like to hear her do something a bit more upbeat. Now that is just a personal choice due to my own musical tastes. She has an amazing voice so I would be happy as hell to check out something a touch more upbeat. I do think this would be an excellent end of the date song. It gives you plenty of reasons to get close to your intended.
