DIRTE – Dead Inside

I love the mellow ass intro to this song. There is a gritty, dirty feel to the tune. It’s not a loud over the top rock song. It’s more like a nice mid tempo jam with an excellent rhythm. The vocals are badass. This guy has this edgy vocal style that worms it’s way into your brain. I’m already a big fan of his tone, it’s not really deep it’s kind of a mid range tone. Makes me think of the vocalist from bands like Smile Empty Soul and Puddle of Mudd. The lyrics are well done and have an almost melancholy sound to them. The rest of the players set a beautiful stage for their vocalist. There aren’t any hot dog moments for the guitarist or drummer yet their presence is felt in every second. I can see them playing this song in concert with a sea of lighters, or I guess now cell phones lighting up the venue.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: As slow jams go this one is awesome. I would love to listen to more of their music to see if they have a more upbeat track. I would love to hear them go nuts with a quick tempo straight up rock song. For this song I gotta say it’s pretty flexible as far as what kind of list you could put it on. I would pair them with some Smile, Puddle or some old AIC. As a matter of face there is even some Five Finger Death Punch or Stone Sour that would work well with Dirte’s style on this track.

Who They Are: D.I.R.T.E, are a 5 piece Grunge/Alternative rock band from the South West UK, formed in late 2013.Spawned from the ashes of CHSINRAIN. Although new to the local music scene DIRTE’s blend of simple lyrics and catchy melody’s keep you on your toes. DIRTE consisting of Lee Stevens whos vocals keep you locked and engaged into every song to create that vibe which was once so dominant in the early to mid 90’s. Dezza (BASS) And Will on (DRUMS & Vocals) the heart and soul of of the band. Ben J (Guitar) whos fluid rhythm and love for grunge and punk create an atmosphere you get lost in. JD (Lead Guitar) who can explode into a solo on the fly to really bring a song alive. DIRTE released there EP entitled “BROKEN WINGS” In early 2014 which consisted of 4 Tracks “BROKEN WINGS”, “DEAD INSIDE” “CHASINRAIN” “NOT ALONE”. But due to band changes DIRTE have decided to get back to the studio to re record all tracks plus another 8 for our new album to be released in the future. We are Influenced by many Alternative bands from different eras, Nirvana, Pear Jam, Sound-Garden, Alice In Chains, Mother Love Bone, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Mad season, Red hot chilli peppers, Puddle of Mudd, Metallica, Audioslave, The Dandy Warholes, Brian Jonestown Massacre Etc Etc.
