There is something about Ian Clayton that makes me think of Tom Petty. That’s going in the win column right off the bat. It’s warm and rich but it has the bit of rough that makes it stand out. But it’s more than that. I love the lilt of this song with a simple guitar backing the vocals. It’s actually quite perfect. I love the story line in what I’ve been able to catch from the lyrics so far.
This is going on my big list of favorites from the site. I found this to be pure musical perfection in every way. His voice is so comforting to me, like a vocal hug. You know me, I love that kind of shit. I’m going to get a hold of this song and put it on my server and my phone. I plan to put it on a list with some Petty, Dylan and for sure Mercedes by Janis Joplin. This song makes me think of younger days driving around with my dad listening to old folk music from the 60’s and 70’s. Maybe that is why it struck such a chord in me. I hope that you guys give it a chance because I know your going to love it.
