3 Pill Morning – Rain

Who They Are: Forged in the hard rock proving grounds of Minneapolis, MN in 2004, 3 Pill Morning could be described as trial by fire. Simply put, music was never a question for lead vocalist Jeff Stebbins read more

Nathaniel Brant – So Far Away

Who They Are: Nathaniel spent several years in Nashville, TN writing songs (Country and Alternative) for major and independent label pitches. He has shifted gears now to create music for his debut album. He has already sold a few thousand cd’s and has played to several small and large crowds at various festivals and music venues in the midwest and the southeast.

Why I Like Them: While I’m not normally I country fan I gotta say for a song with a country vibe I am grooving on this one. It’s really uplifting and it gives you this wistful feeling. I personally found myself thinking of my own SO and how long we’ve been together. I appreciate how the vocalist here is so in touch with the lyrics he wrote. You can feel the emotions and the story.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: Yeah. I don’t have a playlist currently that he would fit under since it’s more of a country thing. I would however start a new playlist with songs that were either full on country or that awesome country/pop crossover.

I DIVIDE – Never Be Stopped

Who They Are: “Exploding out of Exeter with blistering single – ‘The Arrival’, I Divide made an enviable grand entrance into the UK rock scene at the dawn of 2011, dazzling fans with aggressive and epic anthems that summon forth the finest moments of We Are The Ocean and Deaf Havana. Led by unique vocal talent Tom Kavanagh, this tight knit quintet comprises axemen Henry Selley and Josh Wreford backed by drummer Dave Mooney and bass maestro Kristen Hughes. Released under original moniker ‘Dancing With The Enemy’.

Why I Like Them: Hurray! I dig the upbeat temp of this tune. And as you know I’m a freak for that harmony/melody thing and that is up front and center here. It would mix well with bands like Fallout Boy and is reminiscent of older Linkin Park. This particular song has a great soaring quality to it that keeps you pumped up for the duration. There are some really nice vocal feats here that shouldn’t be missed. Excellent guitar work and smashing drums always make for a happy listener.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff:  I do love this song and would be more than happy to listen to the rest of their body of work. I may not have it on all my playlists, but there are a couple that it would fit very nicely on.

Tom Kavanagh – Vocals
Henry Selley – Guitar
Josh Wreford- Guitar/Backing Vocals

Silverside – Long Road Down

Who They Are: Silverside isn’t just a band, it’s the story of our lives on audio. It’s an ever growing tale of love, hardship, success, and all things few and far between. With each day as we grow, we couldn’t be more excited to watch this story unfold. Join us on our journey. Live, love, and learn. But most importantly, Live.

Why I Like Them: I love the theme to this song. I think lyrically every one can relate to what these guys are saying. I think I’ve listened to this song 3 or 4 times now and it just keeps getting better every time. There’s just enough gruff in the vocals that it’s not super sweet like it could have been. I can feel the emotion that this guy is putting out there. Musically I love the drums and guitar. Amazing work on all sides. What I want to do is get their album, curl up and spend some quality time with me and my music.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: For sure I would. It’s not exactly dance music, but I spend a lot of time driving and singing along with my music. I can see myself singing along with these guys while I’m driving.

Jet Black Sunrise – In Flight

Who They Are: Jet Black Sunrise is a 5-piece indie pop/rock from Boston, MA. They blend intricate harmonies with inspired rock arrangements to provide an eclectic listening experience and an energetic live show. With an EP on the horizon, indie label interest and plenty of local buzz, JBS plans to make waves in the coming years.

Why I Like Them: I love an epic guitar! This song starts out with a great one backed but some sweet drums and keyboard work. The intro sets a great tone and the beat slowly builds upon itself it leaves with you with this great anticipatory feeling that is paid off as soon as the vocals kick in. The vocalist at times reminds me of Jakob Dylan and then morphs off into Ryan Tedder.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: Sure, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s like a big musical hug!

Matt Cronin – Vocals, Keys

Seeing Sirens – Ain’t It Somethin (Feat. Cameron P.)

Who They Are: Seeing Sirens is a duo based in NYC. The group consists of Matthew a Multi-instrumentalist and Singer/songwriter Emily. Seeing Sirens perform a wide variety from Indie rock to hard rock. First Full-length album currently in production.

Why I Like Them: I really did dig the music to this song, however I can’t say I am all that enthralled with the vocalist. This song to me is very college radio, which is all good but I was really hit and miss with it back in the day. I will say this though I found the lyrics to be really interesting and thought provoking. I would also accept that I didn’t “get it”, there are a lot of things I don’t get.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: I think this is the first time I would have to pass on listening to more. This band just wasn’t my cup of tea.

X86 – Unbroken

Who They Are: I don’t really have any information about the band. If I can find a bio, I will get it posted ASAP.

Why I Like Them: This song has some really interesting things happening.  I like this girl’s voice. It’s got a groovy rough edge to it that makes it totally rock. I’m pretty sure I hear keyboards in there some where which is an interesting addition to this song. It has a good groove and hook so be careful, this ones likely to get caught in your head.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: I would be interested in listening to more rock offerings from this band.

Nyte Eegle – Deadly Mist

Who They Are: Creating METAL/ROCK music from the heart and soul…. with PASSION….
from the HEAVIEST slamming vibes… to Driving hard edged romps….. to acoustic, ambient,, and soulful pieces….

Why I Like Them: If C.O.C. and Ozzy had a baby this is the offspring. You know what that makes it? Kinda freakin’ awesome that’s what. You’ve got these great dirty, grungy guitar sounds and a rather relentless drum beat keeping them all going. In some songs it’s hard to really pick out the bass line, but this track is an exception. I have to give a nod to the down tempo section of the song because the solo is amazing. I think it’s really kinda the best of both worlds musically. You kick me in the stones, but then you help me up.  How sweet.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: Yes. I dig their style sound. I’m totally up for more from this band.

Butcher Babies – Mr. Slowdeath

Who They Are: Hailing from the City Of Angels, the BUTCHER BABIES offer redemption from the overplayed underground, exorcising demons with a visceral sound matched only in scope by their explosive stage show. Frontwomen Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, guitarist Henry Flury [Amen], bassist Jason Klein [Azdachao] and drummer Chris Warner [Scars of Tomorrow] juxtapose brutal, aggressive riffs with beautiful melodies that wail with anguish and hope for redemption.

Why I Like Them: I haven’t seen many bands with dueling female lead singers. So that got my attention on this song right away. And it wasn’t just that. Thrashy metal isn’t just a boys club any more and I’m pretty sure if you told these ladies that, they would most likely kick you straight in the clackers. But enough of that, let’s talk about the music. This is as in your face, pcp racing through your veins as it gets. While the ladies are doing their thing (that totally awesome metal scream) the band is matching their energy note for note. If you dig on some serious hard core shiz then you have to check this song out.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: Hell yeah! I plan to put them on my work out list if for no other reason then to see how close I can come to a heart attack while working out to their stuff.

Heidi Shepherd- VOX
Carla Harvey- VOX

Crossroad Rebels – Beg for Mercy

Who They Are: Crossroad Rebels is a four-piece Post-Hardcore influenced Alternative Rock band based in Hawaii. Crossroad Rebels began in 2007 composed of high school friends. The members formed a tight bond and practiced constantly while honing their craft. Crossroad Rebels has been performing since 2009 in venues such as Hawaiian Brian’s, Edge Bar, Station, Aloha tower and 4play. Crossroad Rebels recently opened for Silverstein at Hawaiian Brian’s on April 24th 2013 playing to a sold out audience, Coheed And Cambria in August of 2013 (sold out), and Alien Ant Farm March 28th 2014.

Why I Like Them: This has an wicked awesome punky vibe. At one minute it seems almost like it’s all over the place and then bam! I am reminded of the old days when we would sit in my friends basement obsessing over bands like DK, Ramones, and others. I’m not a huge fan of the back up vocals on this track. For me it takes a bit of attention away from the music, but that is just my take. Your milage on that may vary. I can say that I see why they got to play with bands like Coheed and Cambria/Alien Ant Farm. I bet that was a helluva show.

Would I Listen to More of Their Stuff: Certainly. I really like the punk vibe on this song and I want to explore the rest of their catalog.
